A renowned entrepreneur, Dr Kolo Baba Jiya, has spoken of his plan to vie for Kwara North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
Jiya stated this on the sidelines of Kwara APC State Congress held in Ilorin.
The businessman cum politician, a holder of the traditional title of Haske of Patigi, expressed confidence in his capacity to effectively represent the people of Kwara North at the National Assembly if given the opportunity.
He described himself as both a grassroots mobiliser and an experienced technocrat, noting that he has contributed to nation building in various capacities over the years.
He said his legislative agenda would prioritise inclusive development, youth empowerment and infrastructural growth across the district, assuring party faithful and constituents of responsive and people-oriented representation.
Jiya described the APC as a focused political platform committed to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic standing within the global community.
He commended the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly efforts aimed at revitalising the economy and enhancing national security against kidnapping and banditry.
The senatorial aspirant also urged voters in Kwara North to remain vigilant and make informed choices in future elections, stressing that credible leadership remains essential to sustainable development at both the national and state levels.
