The Chairman, Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, has described Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as an exemplary figure, urging young members of the political class to emulate him.
He called on the Governor not loose focus but continue to deliver in accordance with the mandate of Kwarans.
Podo said this in his congratulatory message to Governor AbdulRazaq on his 66th Birthday.
Speaking to Journalists in Ilorin, the council chairman observed that the present administration had prioritized infrastructural projects while delivering as if it was coming afresh as a government.
Podo, who enumerated the intervention of the Governor in all spheres of governance such as road network and health care and other capital projects, said the citizens can no longer hide their feelings toward the positive change experienced in their lifetime.
The Ilorin South council boss, “Since the return of democracy, we have seen a lot of changes in Kwara State. Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq became the Governor around age 60, and he has done a lot of things that we cannot forget him.
“Let me start from the infrastructure of the town. We have two flyovers in the town; the one in Unity and another at Tanke (both in Ilorin). And we have a lot of road network in Kwara Central, South and the North. Look at the one they are doing from Bode-Saadu to Baruten, another one is going on from Eiyenkorin down to Ojoku and Offa side.
“And if you are talking about this government on infrastructure again, we have international conference centre, revenue house, court house, Kwara Hotel almost done. We also have Innovation Hub. Look at Flower Garden. Hitherto, it was bushy and served as a hideout for criminals. But now, it is a beautiful ambience where people organize ceremonies.
“Go and look at health infrastructure. Almost all health centres are being renovated. We also know that qualified people are being recruited as teachers. The government has done a lot. We are just praying that another government that will come after this government should continue with what Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has done. I don’t want somebody that will come and we will be having abandoned projects.”
