JUST IN: Ex-Kwara Works’ Commissioner, Rotimi Iliasu dumps APC

By Folayimika Akanbi
The immediate past Commissioner for Works in Kwara State, Engr Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Iliasu said his resignation from the ruling party is with immediate effect.
The former commissioner stated this in a letter dated March 6th, 2026 and addressed to the Chairman of APC in Oloru Ward of Moro Local Government Area of the state.
Wind Gate News obtained a copy of the letter on Friday night.
He said the current APC direction is at variance with his own vision and aspirations for a better Kwara.
Iliasu said, “In accordance with Article 9.5 (i) of the APC Constitution, I am writing to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective immediately.
“After a period of deep reflection and consultation, I have concluded that the party’s current political direction no longer aligns with my personal vision and aspirations for a better Kwara State.
“My commitment remains steadfast to the progress of our people, but I believe I must pursue this through a path that more closely reflects my core political beliefs and ideologies.”
He, however, expressed appreciation to the APC for the opportunities accorded him during his time as a member of the party.
