Prospective aspirants seeking to vie for gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for 2027 general elections must be prepared to cough out funds as the party fixed N50million for expression of interest and nomination forms for governorship.
For presidential category, the forms go for N100million.
The forms would be available for sale between Saturday, 25th April – Saturday, 2nd May, 2026.
This is contained in a statement, which the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, made available to Journalists on Monday.
Except for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the ruling party, no other individual has shown interest in its presidential ticket.
In the Senate category, aspirants are to pay N20million to pick up the forms while that of the House of Representatives is sold for N10million.
A sum of N6million has been fixed for the forms of the state House of Assembly seat on the platform of the ruling party.
Meanwhile, the APC also scheduled its presidential primary election for Friday, 15th – Saturday, 16th May, 2026 while that of House of Representatives and Senate will hold on Monday, 18th May, 2026 and Wednesday, 20th May, 2026 respectively.
The state House of Assembly primaries will hold on Thursday, 21st May, 2026 and the governorship primaries will take place on Saturday, 23rd May, 2026.
Confirming the statement, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities are required to pay only for the expression of interest form and 50 per cent of the nomination fees for their respective positions.
He assured members, stakeholders, and Nigerians of the party’s commitment to conducting a credible and transparent primary election.
Morka said this would further strengthen the party’s internal democracy and consolidate its progressive ideals.
