By Folayimika Akanbi
Ahead of the primaries of political parties for 2027 general elections, a female journalist, Fatimah Asabe Jiyah, has joined the race for the Kwara State House of Assembly’s seat for Patigi Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She is currently serving as Development Officer of Patigi Local Government Area of the state.
Jiyah promised inclusive and people-focused representation if given the opportunity to serve as the face of Patigi in the hallowed chamber of the state Assembly.
In a statement issued through Etsu Suleiman Lade to support her ambition, the female journalist outlined her priorities to include the promotion of both male and girl-child education, improved healthcare delivery, and empowerment initiatives for widows, orphans, men, and women across the constituency.
Jiyah expressed her readiness to drive sustainable development and address key socio-economic challenges affecting residents.
