Two suspected bandits have been neutralized in a forest between Oba Isin/Owa Onire area of Isin/ Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
The neutralization of the assailants on Thursday led to the rescue of two kidnap victims including a 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and a five year old, Ibrahim Azeez.
Wind Gate News gathered that security personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Forest Guards launched assault on the suspected bandits in the forest, resulting in the rescue of the children.
Some items recovered from the kidnappers are one Ak-47 rifle, one single barrel, one fully loaded magazine with nine empty, mini-solar panel and food stuff.
A security source said other members of the kidnap syndicate escaped with severe injuries following a shootout with security agents in their hideouts.
This medium reports that the rescue operation is connected to the multi-agency counterterrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts of the government.
It was learnt that the rescued children would soon be reunited with their family.
