In what could be described as historic moment, an eleven storey Revenue House of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) was officially inaugurated in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, unveiled the tallest building in Kwara at a commissioning ceremony, which coincided with the turbaning of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the Sardauna of Ilorin.
The turbaning, held at the Palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, had in attendance eminent dignitaries including state Governors, National Assembly members, captains of industry and frontline political leaders.
Shettima inaugurated the KWIRS new building located on Ahmadu Bello Way, GRA, Ilorin, lauding the state government and the authorities of the revenue service for the project.
He also commissioned Kwara Garment Factory, which is projected to provide 4,000 direct jobs.
Wind Gate News reports that the Revenue House serves as the Corporate Headquarters of the KWIRS under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi.
The projects formed part of the activities marking AbdulRazaq’s turbaning as the Sardauna of Ilorin.
