The Registrar/Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, has turned the examination body into a model for other public institutions in the country, an Imam at the National Mosque of Nigeria, Abuja, Dr Abdulkadir Jumuah Salman Solagberu, has said.
He noted that Oloyede, a one-time Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin,
has worked so hard to promote JAMB to a level that it has not only become the nation’s most admirable and credible examination agency.
Solagberu, in a statement he personally signed and issued in Ilorin, commended the varsity Don for taking the examination body to a new level in probity and service delivery.
He described Oloyede’s tenure as the golden age in the annals of the examinations body.
The cleric added that he was particularly happy that the ex vice-chancellor has proven to be a good ambassador of the Nigerian Muslim community, adding that the renowned academic has not disappointed his primary constituency and the nation either as an academic or administrator.
Solagberu urged the JAMB boss, who is also the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Kuliyan Sokoto, to continue to work hard, saying that his place in the history of the nation’s public service remains secured and glowing.
While saluting Oloyede’s patriotism and creativity, the cleric called on Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to emulate his sterling qualities for the nation to achieve its full potential.
Solagberu, who is also the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin and proprietor of the proposed Darul Kitab University, Ilorin, wished the Emeritus Professor long life, sound health and happiness to enable him serve Allah and humanity for more years to come.
