Police elevate 2 SPs, 5 Sergeants, 367 others in Kwara

No fewer than two police officers of superintendent rank and five others of sergeant status have been elevated and decorated as Chief Superintendent of Police and Police Inspectors respectively in the latest promotion exercise in Kwara State Command.
The beneficiaries were among 374 personnel of the command who were recently promoted following the approval of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
Wind Gate News reports that the state Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, decorated some of the newly elevated officers at a brief ceremony held at the command’s headquarters, Ilorin.
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Friday, the spokesperson of the state police command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed that 365 Police Constables were promoted to the rank of Corporal while 2 Corporals got elevated to the rank of Sergeant in the exercise.
The statement quoted the state commissioner of police to have urged the beneficiaries of the promotion to remain disciplined, professional, and committed to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force while rededicating themselves to the protection of lives and property.
He reminded the beneficiaries that the promotion exercise is both a reward for good performance and a call to greater responsibility.
‎Ojo appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for his unwavering commitment to personnel welfare, career progression, and institutional development, noting that the promotion exercise has significantly boosted the morale of officers and men of the command.
“‎The commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, to rewarding diligence, professionalism, and dedicated service has once again found expression in the promotion of Three Hundred and Seventy-Four (374) officers serving in the Kwara State Police Command.
“‎The promotion exercise, approved by the Inspector-General of Police as part of the ongoing nationwide elevation of deserving personnel across the Nigeria Police Force, saw Three Hundred and Sixty-Five (365) Police Constables promoted to the rank of Corporal, Two (2) Corporals elevated to the rank of Sergeant, Five (5) Sergeants promoted to the rank of Inspector, and Two (2) Superintendents of Police advanced to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police.
“‎The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, congratulated the newly promoted officers and described the elevation as a recognition of their commitment, sacrifice, and invaluable contributions to the maintenance of law and order,” the statement partly read.
