In continuation of its Ramadan outreach, an Ilorin-based organization, Saleeman Adedoyin Saleeman (SAS) Foundation has flagged off the distribution of meal to 10,000 residents of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The food offering was also used to commemorate the 35th birthday of the founder of the foundation, Engr Saleeman Adedoyin Saleeman, just as residents heaped praises on him for his intervention.

This medium reports that the initiative is taking place in mosques and communities across Ilorin, providing meal for fasting Muslims during the last ten days of Ramadan.

In a statement, the foundation’s Media Officer, Halima Shittu, said the outreach was designed to ensure that many families break their fast with dignity while promoting compassion and unity within the community.

She said the outreach was aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and families facing economic hardship during the holy month.

Shittu described the founder, who is marking his birthday during the Ramadan period, as an outstanding young leader whose philanthropic efforts have positively impacted many lives in the state.

Shittu noted that the initiative reflects Saleeman’s belief that everyone deserves a decent meal for iftar and urged more leaders and well-meaning individuals to emulate such acts of generosity.

She also recalled that during the previous Ramadan, the foundation distributed over 1,000 packs of food items to residents across Ilorin and other parts of the state.

Speaking on the provision of the meal, some residents commended Saleeman for what they described as his consistent commitment to humanitarian service.

A community member, Saadu Pakata, said the scale of the Ramadan outreach demonstrates Saleeman’s genuine concern for ordinary people, noting that many families have benefited from the meal distributed across various communities.

Another resident, Rasheed Agaka, said the initiative has brought relief to many households observing the fast, describing the outreach as a reflection of Saleeman’s long-standing support for the less privileged.

Members of the foundation’s volunteer team also commended his leadership and mentorship, noting that his guidance has inspired many young people to participate in community service and humanitarian initiatives.

One of the volunteers, Mujeeb Ibrahim, said working with Saleeman has encouraged many youths to embrace volunteerism and contribute to community development.

Traditional leaders in the state have also acknowledged his philanthropic contributions.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who is the Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, has previously commended Saleeman for his commitment to supporting the less privileged and promoting humanitarian initiatives within the Ilorin Emirate.

Similarly, the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Dr Usman Atolagbe Jos, once described him as a “golden son” of Ilorin in recognition of his dedication to community development.

Beyond Ramadan interventions, the SAS Foundation has continued to expand its social impact programmes.

In August 2025, the foundation, in partnership with international NGOs, Evergreen Initiative and SheBuildLives, successfully concluded its Summer School Project tagged Project Tutored, which trained more than 100 students from underserved communities in Ilorin, providing them with academic support, mentorship, and development opportunities.

Earlier in December 2025, Saleeman also announced a free healthcare initiative for residents of the Ubandawaki community as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and expand community impact.

Residents said initiatives such as the Ramadan food distribution, healthcare support, and education programmes demonstrate Saleeman’s commitment to improving lives, particularly among vulnerable communities in Kwara State.

Many have also used the occasion of his 35th birthday to offer prayers for greater achievements and continued service to humanity.
