The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled its gubernatorial primaries in Kwara State for tomorrow (Friday) in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
No reason was advanced for the decision to postpone the shadow election, which is to be held today (Thursday).
About 16 aspirants are participating in the election including Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, who is the anointed candidate of the incumbent Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde, confirmed that the primary election has been shifted.
While thanking members of the party for their understanding and cooperation, the APC urged aspirants and party faithful to take note of the development.
“This is an official notice from the Office of the State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“The APC Governorship Primary earlier scheduled to hold today, Thursday, 21st May 2026, has been postponed.
“The new date for the Governorship Primary is now Friday, 22nd May 2026,” the statement partly read.
