JUST IN… Kwara Assembly: Ogunniyi secures return ticket for Ojomu/Balogun Constituency in APC primaries

A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. David Seun Ogunniyi, has secured victory in the House of Assembly primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ojomu/Balogun Constituency of Offa Local Government in the state House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Findings showed that the lawmaker, in the shadow election held on Wednesday, polled landslide votes across the five wards that form the constituency to trounce his major challenger, Zainab Damilola Abbas.
The Ojomu/Balogun constituency comprises political wards such as Balogun, Ojomu Central A, Ojomu North West, Ojomu Central B and Ojomu South East, all in Offa local government.
With the victory at the primaries, Ogunniyi admirably referred to as Adato, has secured a return ticket to the state House of Assembly where he currently chairs the Committee on Health and Nutrition.
Reacting to the outcome of the shadow poll, the lawmaker described his return ticket as a collective victory and a pathway to secure a brighter future for his constituency.
Ogunniyi saluted the courage, patriotism, and immense love those who contested the ticket with him have for the constituency, declaring that there are neither winners nor losers.
The lawmaker restated his commitment to keeping the standard of good governance, effective representation, just as he pledged to continue to prioritize the development of the constituency.
“I Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi (Adato) joyfully express my profound and heartfelt gratitude first to the Almighty God, to our party leaders, esteemed stakeholders and to the wonderful people of Ojomu Balogun Constituency for the confidence you all have reposed in me to stand as your flag bearer for the upcoming House of Assembly election come 2027.
“I sincerely thank you for your overwhelming support and for believing in me to continue to represent our constituency. Your gesture has imposed on me a debt of gratitude that I owe you all — I therefore commit to keeping the standard of good governance, effective representation, and to continue to prioritize the development of our constituency. Today’s victory is not for me; it is our collective victory and a pathway to secure a brighter future for us all and for our constituency.
“To my fellow contestants who boldly expressed their aspirations and attempt to secure our party’s ticket: I salute your courage, your patriotism, and your immense love for Ojomu/Balogun. This primary election is an internal political family affair, there are no winners or losers today. The true winner is our great party and our constituency.
“I sincerely extend a hand of fellowship and friendship to every co-contestant. My doors will remain wide open, and there is immense room for collaboration. Let us combine our ideas, our energy, and our strengths for the ultimate good of our constituency. We need each other to win the multi party electoral contest ahead of us.
