Kwara lawmaker, Ogunniyi hails IG for appointing Giwa Head, Police New Media

The Chairman, House Committee on Health in the Kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA), Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi, has applauded the choice of Aliyu Giwa, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), as Head, New Media Directorate of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
He described Giwa as an outstandingly brilliant, articulate, and tech-savvy law enforcement officer, who is deeply knowledgeable about image, brand, and reputation management of the Police Force.
The lawmaker, who represents Ojomu/Balogun Constituency of Offa Local Government in the state House of Assembly, said this in a statement issued in Ilorin on Sunday.
Ogunniyi appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force under the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for appointing what he described as a professional and brilliant officer to the strategic position.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of Giwa to add value to the role and positively project the image of the Nigeria Police Force to the satisfaction and admiration of the public.
Ogunniyi congratulated the officer on the appointment and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in office.
Wind Gate News reports that Giwa, who hails from Offa in Kwara State, holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Maiduguri.
Since joining the Nigeria Police Force, the new police appointee has performed his duties and assignments with exceptional candour and an impressive track record.
He has served in several strategic roles where he garnered experience in modern-day brand and image management of Africa’s largest policing and law enforcement institution.
His previous roles included Assistant Public Relations Officer at the Obalende Annex in Lagos and Police Assistant to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in the Department of Logistics and Supply.
Giwa also served as Personal Assistant to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police at the Nigeria Police Cooperative Multi-Purpose Society Limited. While serving as an Assistant Superintendent of Police, he was the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State between 2014 and 2017.
He is a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and Ethical Hacker, and a member of the International Compliance Association.
He holds certification in Telecoms Fraud Control from Zhejiang Police College.
