Kwara Central Senator in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has eulogized the courage and sacrifice of the slain General O. Braimah, and his men in the theatre of operation in Borno State.
Braimah, who is the Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade, alongside other soldiers, were fatally wounded when Boko Haram terrorists launched a coordinated attack on their military camp in Benisheikh, Borno State.
Nasif Sholagberu, Media Assistant to Senator Mustapha, in a statement issued on Friday, said the commitment of the late commander and his men to duty in the face of persistent security challenges will remain deeply etched in the nation’s history.
The legislator expressed sorrow over the death of the general and others, describing the attack as a painful and tragic loss to the nation.
He noted that the fallen officers paid the ultimate price in active service while defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and safeguarding its peace and unity.
Mustapha extended heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Armed Forces, as well as to the families of the deceased officers, praying for strength, comfort, and fortitude for all those affected as a result of the loss.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed souls eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
Wind Gate News reports that Senator Mustapha was honoured to decorate the slain general with his current rank in the Nigerian Army.
