One Fatima Mohammed is currently undergoing interrogation in the facility of the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with an alleged mutilation of naira.
Operatives of the anti-graft agency apprehended Mohammed in Maiduguri, Borno State capital on Tuesday for allegedly using a N500 note to clean mucus from her nose.
This is contained in a statement obtained on EFCC verified Facebook Page on Wednesday evening. It said she would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
The statement noted that the suspect was arrested following a viral video circulated on tiktok where she was seen with N500 to clean mucus from her nose.
Operatives of the commission reportedly traced and arrested Mohammed in the Maiduguri metropolis after the release of the video.
The anti-graft agency said investigation is ongoing while the suspect, under investigation, is at its Maiduguri detention facility.
