NILDS DG, Olojoku, others grace ex-Kwara Grand Kadi’s wife’s fidau

Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman; Grand Kadi of Kwara State, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen; Olojoku of Ojoku land, Oba Abdulrazaq Afolabi Ojoku, were among eminent citizens that attended the fidau for Hajia Salmat Iyabo Muhammad, the late wife of a retired Grand Kadi of Kwara State, Justice Salihu Olohuntoyin Muhammad, held in Ilorin, today (Saturday).

The fidau, which took place at the deceased residence, Fagba, Alagbado Area of Ilorin, also played host to renowned Muslim clerics.

In his sermon, an Islamic scholar, Imam Buniyamin Ayinla, urged Muslim faithful to prepare for death in their various undertakings.

Imam Ayinla, who is the Imam Ori-Okoh Oke, Ilorin reminded the congregation of the inevitability of death, describing it as the finality of every living soul.

He also admonished the Muslim community to be wary of worldly materials as whatever acquired would be accounted for on the day of resurrection.

The cleric, who also led the fidau with support from other prominent Islamic scholars in attendance, identified the late wife of former Kwara Grand Kadi as a dedicated servant of the Almighty Allah.

Hajia Salmat Iyabo Muhammad, a former Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kwara State, died last Wednesday at the age of 63 after a brief illness while her remains were interred on Thursday in line with Islamic injunctions.
