The Anambra State government has arrested a clergyman, Pastor Harrison Charles, for allegedly snatching about 75 married women from their husbands.
It was learnt that Harrison’s victims, mostly members of his church, accused him of forcing them to swap wives and also taking church members’ wives for himself.
Governor Charles Soludo’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Ejimofor Opara, confirmed the pastor’s arrest in a Facebook post.
He said the clergyman had been handed over to the police, adding that a joint investigation between the Anambra State Police Command and the state government had commenced.
Opara called on anyone with information on the pastor’s activities to report to the state government.
“Pastor Harrison Charles, owner of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, was arrested by operatives of Agunechemba following a viral video containing several allegations against him.
“He is currently being investigated by the police in collaboration with the Anambra State government.
“During his arrest, about 11 babies were found in his home. He claims to be the father of these eleven babies, stating they are from 11 of his wives.
“He also claims he does not know the number of wives he has married or the total number of children he has.
“While investigations continue, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, Mr Ken Emeakayi, has urged anyone with additional information to report it to the State Government via 08034182108,” the Governor’s media aide added as obtained in The Nation.
