The Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq, has congratulated the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kwara State, Senior Ibrahim Sulyman, on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
He described the conferment as edifying,well deserved and delightful.
In a congratulatory message issued in Ilorin on Friday, AbdulRazaq said Senior Sulyman’s elevation to the SAN rank in the legal profession did not come as a surprise going by his antecedents as a minister in the temple of justice, who has consistently demonstrated the highest professionalism both in private practice and currently as the Attorney-General of Kwara State.
He also described the state Attorney General as a progressive Kwaran, who is preoccupied in ensuring that the state is set on the pedestal of probity, accountability, justice and protection of the rights of all.
The Mutawali of Ilorin noted that Senior Sulyman has exhibited qualities expected of a team player in all his undertakings as the state’s chief law officer, describing his new SAN rank as deserving and meritorious.
He urged the state Attorney General to be above board, remain focused and eschew any form of distraction in the discharge of his duties in line with the extant provisions of the law.
“I send my warm felicitations to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kwara State, Senior Ibrahim Sulyman, on his appointment as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria among other eminent Nigerian lawyers by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
“For Kwarans that have been following the state’s legal trajectory, the Attorney General has demonstrated professionalism in the way and manner his office handles legal matters in the state.
“So, for me, the elevation of Senior Ibrahim Sulyman to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria rank did not come as a surprise going by his antecedents as a minister in the temple of justice and on account of his consistency as the state’s Chief Law Officer.
“l am particularly elated today as Senior’s late father, Alhaji Kunle Sulyman, would certainly have been particularly proud as he was also an accomplished Barrister and was my classmate at university and the Nigerian Law School,” Mutawali said.
AbdulRazaq, who is a member of the Body of Benchers, the highest legal regulatory body in Nigeria, urged young lawyers, particularly from Kwara to emulate the professional etiquette, principles and practice of erudite Silks in Nigeria.
