Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has held talks with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, aimed at exploring strategies to strengthen public safety in the state.
The meeting, which took place in Abuja on Monday, came against the backdrop of the violent attacks on the Palace of the Emir of Yashikira in Baruten Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Umar Seriki.

The post noted that another police tactical squads were deployed in the state to neutralise new threats in parts of the state earlier on Monday.
Wind Gate News reports that gunmen in the early hours of Monday, invaded the palace of the monarch, abducting his wives, children and some residents of the border town.
The assailants also set ablaze vehicles, animals and property sighted during the invasion.
It would be recalled that unidentified gunmen stormed the Ori-Oke Ajaye near Ikerin-Opin village in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state where three persons were shot dead while several others were seized at gunpoint.
