The Confederation of African Football has reversed the victory of Senegal in the 2025 African Cup of nations and instead picked Morocco as winner of the continental tournament.
The African football governing body, in its ruling, said Senegal forfeited the final match.
This was sequel to the successful appeal of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, which challenged an earlier disciplinary outcome.
The governing body, in its ruling, declared the match awarded 3–0 in favour of Morocco, effectively handing the North African side the continental title.
Some disciplinary issues were also addressed in the decision including incidents during the match and matters involving Moroccan player Ismaël Saibari.
The appeal board of CAF found that Senegal breached competition regulations, leading to the forfeiture of the final match of the competition.
