Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has ordered immediate payment of salary to workers in the employment of the state government.
The payment began a few days to the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, which signals an end to this year’s Ramadan.
In a terse statement culled from the WhatsApp Page of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Olayinka Fafoluyi on Tuesday, the government said the rationale behind the payment of salary was to ensure that civil servants meet their needs during the period of festivities.
“In line with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s longstanding tradition, the Kwara State Government has commenced the payment of March salary to the civil servants in the state to enable them to meet their needs, during the forthcoming Eid celebration.
“Governor AbdulRazaq has continued to maintain a leadership style that puts smiles on the faces of Kwarans, including civil servants,” the government said.
As of the time of filing this report, it was learnt that retirees and civil servants on the payroll of the state government have started having their bank accounts credited with the salary for the month of March.
