There are strong indications, on Sunday, that immediate past Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor, Dr Rafiu Ajakaye, has emerged candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun/Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ajakaye, in a message obtained from his verified Facebook Page on Sunday afternoon, appreciated party stakeholders and members for their support that led to his victory at the primary election.
It was observed that Option A-4 was adopted in the Direct Mode of the shadow poll.
At the primary of the party held on Saturday to determine its flag-bearer for the constituency in the green chamber of the National Assembly, Kwara Governor’s ex-publicist reportedly won in most of the political wards of the three local government areas that form the federal constituency.
The incumbent member of the House of Representatives, who hails from Erin-Ile in Oyun local government, Kayode Ismail Tijani, was defeated in his ward.
Ajakaye was reported to have enjoyed popular support of members of the party throughout the conduct of the shadow election.
In his message, the former Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said, “My profound gratitude to leaders and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), across Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Constituency for your support and steadfastness, which gave us victory in the primaries on Saturday.
“Let’s stick together for the remaining leg of this process. I am grateful to you all!.”
