By Folayimika Akanbi
Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, said the emergence of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as the lone aspirant in the Kwara Central Senatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a clear indication of the immense respect, acceptance, and confidence he enjoys among party stakeholders and members across the state.
Mustapha, who is the Turaki of Ilorin, noted that the development reflects the belief among party leaders and stakeholders that Governor AbdulRazaq deserves such recognition and preeminence in view of his contributions to the growth and stability of the party and the state.
The legislator said this in a statement issued through his Media Assistant, Nasif Sholagberu, and made available to Journalists in Ilorin today (Monday).
Governor AbdulRazaq is vying for the senatorial ticket of APC for Kwara Central ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In the statement, Mustapha called on members of the APC across the state to conduct themselves peacefully and orderly in today’s party primaries into various senatorial district positions.
He urged party faithful to come out en masse and exercise their democratic rights in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and mutual respect.
The Senator expressed strong support for the aspiration of the Governor, who is the sole contestant for the APC senatorial ticket in the district.
He appealed to APC members to remain united before and after the primaries in the collective interest of the party and the continued progress of the state.
Mustapha wished the Governor and other aspirants participating in the primaries across the state a peaceful, successful, and rancour-free exercise.
