The Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has joined the race for Kwara State governorship seat preparatory to the 2027 general elections.
He is vying for the state top seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wind Gate News sighted an electronic flyer on Saturday night adorned with the picture of the NOA boss and accompanied with a catchphrase “Kwara n re ‘waju’.
In the e-flyer where the former APC National Publicity Secretary clad in ‘Babariga’ with cap and eyeglasses to match, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu for Kwara State Governor 2027 was conspicuously written.
It was learnt that Issa-Onilu had already begun consultation with stakeholders and hierarchy of the ruling party to realize his ambition.
When approached on Saturday night to verify the authenticity of the e-flyer, the NOA Director General confirmed it.
Issa-Onilu simply replied this medium thus, “Yes. It is.”
The resolve of the NOA Director General to throw his hat into the gubernatorial ring came barely few weeks to the primary elections of political parties in line with revised timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Issa-Onilu is joining the growing list of aspirants, who have either secretly or publicly announced their intention to succeed the incumbent Governor of Kwara in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
