A financial expert, Mohammed Baba Ibrahim (MBI), is in early lead from the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the House of Representatives’ seat in Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency of Kwara State held on Saturday.
It was observed that MBI led other contestants for the ticket of the ruling party in some of the wards whose results had so far been released across the three local government areas of the constituency.
In Tsaragi Ward One of Edu Local Government Area for instance, MBI scored 1,025 votes to lead other aspirants such as the incumbent House of Representatives member, Dr Ahmed Adamu Saba, who polled 15 votes; Abubakar Ahmed Ndakene (20), Moshood Alaka (45) and Abubakar Bello Tauheed (40).
The result showed that the financial expert won in Lafiagi Ward Two also in Edu local government with 1,605 votes while Saba garnered 273 votes and Tauheed 486 votes among others.
For Shonga Ward Three in Edu local government, MBI scored 401 votes with Ndakene and Saba polling 755 and 752 votes respectively.
In Kpada Ward Two of Patigi local government, the financial expert trounced others with 1,581 votes while Saba scored 76 votes and Alaka returned with eight votes.
The result of the primaries held in Lade Ward Two of Patigi local government area revealed that MBI polled 1,821 votes to lead while Saba, Alaka and Tauheed garnered 84, 30 and 22 votes respectively in the result sheets that had presiding officers and agents of aspirants apending their signatures.
