There is fresh anxiety over the whereabouts of the victims seized at gunpoint during a deadly attack visited on Woro and Nuku communities of Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State on February 3rd, 2026.
Earlier on Saturday (today), a viral video was circulated on a social media handle (Facebook) where abductors paraded those kidnapped in the banditry ravaged two communities.
Even though the abductors refused to reveal their identity in the shot video, among the kidnapped-victims were mothers and children.
Two elderly females paraded in the video, believed to be mothers, were seen and heard confirming that they were abducted in Woro community in the recent attacks.
Each of them while speaking, disclosed that 176 of them are in the den of the violent religious extremists.
They (female-abductees) responded in Hausa after a voice, suspected to be one of the abductors, was heard asking them (also in Hausa) how many of them were taken away and in which community were they abducted.
It was observed that the mothers and children were lined up for the parade in the short video.
They pleaded for help to secure their release from captivity.
The development has heightened concern about the well being of the victims, who were abducted during the February 3rd, 2026 attacks that drew global outrage.
In the attacks, the Kwara State government confirmed that, at least, 75 local Muslims were slaughtered following their resistance to the terrorists’ attempts at indoctrinating them.
As of the time of filing this report, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Before this report around 1:27pm today, no government or security agency has confirmed or denied the viral video.
